sharing filters - no way. ignore a sub feature? yes.

Why is that?

I'm extra curious why you'd not share your filters with friends.

I think this is a pretty good idea actually. It's not really censorship because the post is still on the website for everyone. Unless of course the user filtered it out, but that is his choice.

On reddit one of the first subs I filtered was the rage comics sub. I haven't found a need for a filter yet but I know it's inevitable and would love the option to filter or hide links that I have no interest in.

i like the idea a lot. but i cant see why its a slippery slope.

I would love to be able to filter all the god-damn cats from v/all.

On reddit r/all was 95% content from massively popular subs, so it was entirely feasible to simply subscribe to those minus one or two to achieve the same as this IdeaforVOAT on your frontpage. Here im noticing that the v/all page has new subverses every day and keeping on top of managing your subscriptions is a lot more difficult than simply filtering them out as they come.

TLDR i hate cats, let me filter cats out pls

Yea, I want to filter that stupid t-shirt sub that I saw everywhere the other day. There is literally zero reason I will ever want to see anything that gets posted there.

It could be photo's of a T-Shirt creation competition between the Pope and Obama and I would still prefer it to be filtered out.

Can you explain? On reddit I liked to filter out rage comics and adviceanimals. Due to the lack of downvotes on this website it's only a matter of time before low effort content makes it's way to the top. Shit floats to the top after all.

Please explain more, preferably without the twitter suggestions -- I'm already using it -- thanks.

What if users were able to set up censoring for themselves by themselves depending on what they actually wanted to see. Voat's ability to block subverses is a really great idea, but what if it extended to include the ability to block posts with certain keywords, for example, racial slurs, This way the white supremacists and SJW hunters can circlejerk all day long, and everybody else can filter them out. Obviously it isn't a perfect solution, but at least it's some sort of method of cutting down on the amount of low quality posts we'd have to sift through. Even better if you can share your filtering rules with others.
