Well, I don't see why not! I'll change the color. Are you guys good with violet? Edit: night mode.

Nope! Looks like some class confusion is happening. I'll take a look at it.

it may not be a good idea to use violet, as it might look like a previously visited link

Usernames remain the same color regardless of web history. I've only chose to give links on the front page a different color.

A lot of reddit apps make use of this and it's a pretty simple thing but it makes a huge difference if you are following up on comments.

Anyway we could also have a way to select the color of other usernames we are interested in?

You'd probably run out of colors pretty quick. There was another ideasforvoat that suggested showing avatars next to submissions and comments. I think it might make it easier to differentiate voaters without even putting in too much conscious effort.

Nonsense! The amount of colors available on the web is massive; it would be hard to run out of colors. I think it would also be a lot less controversial than putting avatars next to usernames, which will bloat the page, especially as the userbase grows.

There is currently an indicator that reads [S] for submitter. But I think a louder tell all would be a great addition.

I had not noticed that. Thanks for pointing that out!

Another great idea. Like the others said, purple (the same shade as the 'v' in the logo) is the most logical choice.

Why, so we can vote based on who the user is?

Not necessarily voting, but reading the comments based on the user, yes. Sometimes it's useful to be able to distinguish which comments the OP replied to, especially in AMAs, introductions, or other similar posts where the OP matters a bit.
