Exactly, and downvoting actually works effectively to stop those guys because it slows down the number of posts they're allowed to make. A somewhat effective stopgap until Voat finds a better way to limit or stop them.

First of all, amalek isn't one person, but various redditors using public accounts to troll. These accounts should be banned by administration, not punished by an angry mob.

It was not an issue of quality, but an issue of spamming. Spam is not acceptable. It disrupts the free exchange of ideas between people.

Actually yes. The very point of votes is to hide away spammy, shitty posts/comments and to promote good/quality posts/comments.
