Ok, this is/would be a huge thing but I want to plant the seed for the future.
I propose that a subverse can/should have the capability to change it's core behavior on how it ranks content (how it orders posts). The two primary examples is that of traditional forum sites that have a thread pushed to the top of the list upon a reply (bumping), the second is a ranking algorithm exactly like Whoaverse uses right now.
This is just an idea and can probably be as simple as changing a default sort or something but here is my core reason: It seems that the algorithm that whoaverse/reddit uses results in significant content being "lost" to the past. Posts that are relevant but forever dormant. I think this causes a lot of reposts.
So, just an idea to consider for the future.
Edit: I can see different reasons to implement this. For example, a book review (how to, product review, etc.) sub would focus more on submitting high quality posts and more emphasis would be put into the conversation (comments) for each post, thus a traditional forum site algorithm would be ideal (last reply pushes post to top). A sub like /v/funny you would want new & fresh content (which the current algorithm supports perfectly) and reposting (yes I said it) so it would use the default ranking algorithms. Just some additional thoughts.

Sounds interesting and I think this would certainly be nice to have at some point.
