Living in the US and working a 12 hour night shift it really sucks to get home and the front page be full of threads from a day ago. Even though these threads might have good information in them it is still a day ago news. I probably looked at it before I left for work.
Users who experience this are less inclined to contribute. If I see a 20 hour old thread, chances are discussion has died down are you can really only reach the person you replied to. Most of the value in forums like this is to have someone come in and actually add something not previously mentioned in the conversation that is relevant that furthers the discussion. You simply cannot have that value if people that want to don't feel like contributing because they won't get recognized with voats.
It has been mentioned before and I feel this matter leads further discussion. Voat has a global audience. So does the internet. It is so strange that something so global like the internet can experience time zones, but it does.

I'd like to know what the fuck is up with the the sorting system more than anything. I've got several posts in my subverses that are several days old sitting on the front page. Even though tens or hundreds of submissions have gone through since then. It makes my subverses look less active than they really are. It's annoying as hell.

Yeah we are still in alpha with the site so I'm sure things like that will be sorted out with time. Hopefully suggestions like ours are being heard and I think they would be a vast improvement to the site.
