Recently I reported what I perceived to be a bug concerning the comment cancel button not having a confirmation that could prevent long messages from getting accidentally erased. Most users seemed to be in support, but some were not.
I recall similar controversy / disagreement concerning the ellipsis button, which prevents mobile users from accidentally blocking subverses. Some users cherish the ellipsis button, others revile it.
What I propose is adding a new checkbox to the user settings page called "enable confirmations" or something to that effect, which if checked would enable the ellipsis button and the "Cancel" confirmation, and even the "delete comment" confirmation, since I'm sure people annoyed by having to click twice to save a post or cancel a reply are also annoyed at the terrible burden of clicking twice to delete their own comments.
This way those who use mobile more often or just generally appreciate confirmations before irreversible actions can have these features while those who prefer single-click Voating can have their preferred user experience as well.
