Hey guys,
I'm drinking right now. So just ignore this if its a terrible idea!
I'm really new here. Feel free to check my history here and at the other site.
Anyways, it seems all of these online services (Reddit, FB, etc.) run into some user backlash/dropout after everyone gets comfy and they try to start monetizing the site.
I'm not saying "Omfg let's monetize it now!". What I'm proposing is that we come up with ideas from the inception. That way by the time the owners have/need/want to go that route we'll know what's up and it will hopefully be less offensive to our tastes.
This could happen years down the road after the back end and user base has matured.
I just feel if the users are involved in some fashion, we won't be quite as pissed.
I know the creators have been very open (discussing the DDoSing and such) with us, so hopefully they will maintain that and at the very least keep us in the loop when the time arrives.
Does anyone have any ideas for a site like this to make money without alienating users or compromising what the site stands for?

So a distributed model where every user installs a client to host the content? Sort of like torrent.
Like some of the recent new sites we've seen. I forget their names and too fucked to look it up.
Seems a valid idea as well.
Thanks good sir/goat.
