Monetization of an otherwise beloved website is actually why I moved from one social platform to another (Reddit)...I am so fed up with good sites getting greedy after they build up a loyal userbase, after years and years of dedication/loyalty, only to spit in the face of their users by messing up shit to squeeze blood from stone (money from wallets) and to pander to corporate audiences. It could happen to Voat too in the future, but at least in the here and now that is not likely for at least a couple of years, and hopefully Voat knows not to make the same mistakes Reddit is making.
