1.) I think that when you post it would be cooler if the post button said, "Doing the 'thing'."(you know like Ju Li? Do the thing!) instead of Doing the Magic. Doing the magic is probably the same thing Bill Cosby calls what he does.
2.) I think that while that copypasta about only upvoting that is going around is annoying as hell, it does make a good point and that Voat might be more successful if downvoting somehow became something that we only did for spam and irrelevant shit, not for disagreement. Like just make it the report button instead of having a downvote score. Plus, that would put the focus on voat about advocating for content you liked. In other words, people would actually start to develop the habit of upvoting, solving reddit's eternal problem.
3.) The "share a link" and "discuss" buttons are confusing to newcomers. Discuss sounds like a button you press to comment on this page, not post a text post. It should say, "post a link/text", then in the text editor you should be able to switch back and forth between a link or a text post, just like, um...uh.....you know.....ah...other places on the internet?

Thats a really good point. I guess I would amend my suggestion to say that while it might be good to have separate buttons, "discuss" is too ambiguous of a word. I think it should be changed to "post a text submission" or something like that.

Yeah, why should we update websites to be easier to use and more user friendly? Lets just leave everything the way it was in the 1990's, are you kidding me dude? Apply a little critical thinking here please.
If you chase away new people wh ofind the site by making it harder to figure out then this site will NEVER beat reddit. Might as well take the servers down now.
