Remember blocks aren't a "verse downvoat" and shouldn't necessarily be interpreted as bad.

For example I block every porn verse I see- not because I hate porn, but because I use Voat primarily for news and the odd maymay and I already have sources of smut, so here for me it's just clutter.

I'm well aware that they're not intended as a downvote and that treating them as such on some subs will lead to a false impression, however there are a near infinite range of reasons for blocking a sub so I feel that is a consideration that each user should make for themselves. If we don't have all the numbers we can't consider the reason for the numbers.

It'd be cool to see the numbers, for sure. Not arguing against that, only advising caution in how they're presented.

As the owner of what is probably one of the most blocked subs on Voat (/v/RFH) I'd be curious :P

Dude, why don't you just call your shit lolli hentai. From what i just saw that is pretty much every post is about.

It allows non-loli hentai.

I'm okay blocking sick fucks who promote pedophilia. No real danger in that.

RFH must stand for "Really fucked hentai".

I don't necessarily agree it makes a sub look bad to be extensively blocked, everyone who has been on voat a while will be well aware of the dramatics and brigading some subs endure and can adjust their own interpretation of the figures accordingly, any noobs who haven't got used to the manipulation on here are unlikely to know what the figures mean at all.

This is the conclusion I came to, after thinking of the same idea a while ago. Every way to counter this, requires extensive measures that can still be circumvented.

So: Against.

This is a brilliant idea. Absolutely brilliant. I've always been curious about that myself, but never thought to suggest it as something publicly be available.

Oh, oh! I know, then you can let the admins filter the front page based on the number of blocks it has!

Why would you want to do that? There's multiple reasons for a user to block a sub, and each user is different so you can't read too much into the figures, certainly not enough to start using them to build a front page. Also if you did use them to build a front page you've just given the abusers something else worth manipulating, something to brigade, whereas if it's just a displayed number it's up to the end user to decide what to make of it.
