There's already a minimum requirement for downvoating, which I think is awesome, as it encourages participation within the community instead of silently lurking, and has gamified the up/down vote system enough to make me an active user.
Noticing quite a bit of new members snapping up 'good' or well known subverses with reddit equivalents, some accounts only days old, and others with only one or two comments. I propose that it might be of our best interest to introduce some form of gating, to prevent instantaneous acquisition of subverses following an account's creation.
Now, before I get all high and mighty, I'm going to admit that I did this myself, snapping up a subverse because I was interested in it, it hadn't been created yet, and I feared the powermod strawman. I'll admit, what I did was probably wrong. However, I'd like to argue that there's a difference between myself using a single subverse to which I'm interested, as compared to certain members, whose accounts are a single day old, creating a ring of porn subverses. I'll leave names out of this, as I'm not looking to rile a witch-hunt or an argument.
What are your thoughts? Do you think that Voat should require CCP to create subs, similar to what is required in order to downvote?

It would be better if it were per IP address as well. There are ways around it but it would be more difficult to get around.
