Revisiting an old idea about voting...
When a user clicks the upvote button on any post or comment, show the following dropdown list the user must choose from in order to register the vote action:
- Contributes to discussion
- I just want to have babies with OP
- I agree
When a user clicks the downvote button on any post or comment, show the following dropdown list the user must choose from in order to register the vote action:
- Does not contribute to discussion
- I don't agree
The selectable list of options when up or down voting are not limited to the above examples. These are just examples for this idea. List of options can be added to or removed from later on. For example the upvote select list can later add "Shit must be seen by all" as an upvote reason if users wish it after collective discussion with the admins to make it so, and "shill" can later be added to this list of downvote reasons if users with agreement from admins wish it as well.
So when showing vote count stats per post or comment, it will show the normal 2-dimensional +1/-1 count as usual, but hovering over that area will show a "group by" count for each above reason categories.
The goal of adding "reason" for voting is to allow all users to make a 3-dimensional personal and individual analysis and choice about a post or comment with anonymity, rather than the current 2-dimensional restriction with just voting against the overall +1/-1 count we're limited to now.
