Don't we want voat to be a place where steps are taken to avoid the concentration of power? Shouldn't we spread influence among our users as much as possible?
Do you really need to mod 10 major verses? I see a lot of accounts that seem to have come right after voat hit the news that first time, and all have 10 verses, but the accounts do not have much activity outside of modding.
I am very concerned about a discussion on IRC earlier that stated the Reddit "core in-mod group" are already here and preparing should Voat have even moderate success.
Apparently they plan to use their media contacts from reddit to put pressure on Voat and force a takeover should Voat resist their agenda. The person said on IRC that now they put down vote and say they are happy all the "reddit trash" have a place to disappear. Solid bet that will change if this place picks up users and Reddit hemorrhages them.
---edit---
Look - Even if Reddit mods are not here at all and the usually reliable people about reddit on IRC just want attention - this is a good idea anyway. We don't need to have brand new tyrants either. Users have contributed great ideas already below.
