Alright, just so we're clear, I'm aware of how much an eye-sore that title is. But ideally this type of conversation can happen weekly, where we get together, discuss certain elements or gameplay mechanics that we like, and how they could be expanded or improved upon. Confused? I'll start us off
Shadow of Mordor
Monolith Productions and WB games' fall 2014 unexpected smash hit introduced to gamers the "Nemesis System." This feature allowed each and every play through to be a unique experience by randomizing the abilities and strengths/weaknesses of the many mini-bosses the player encounters throughout the game.
I would like to see this same system implemented in a city-like environment where the player assumes control of a police officer or detective. The Nemesis system, coupled with a narrative about crime, corruption... the whole film noir experience! I think having a constantly evolving cast of goons and loan sharks, bootleggers, pimps, dirty cops and others, and allowing the player the versatility to take them down in creative ways, would all make for a very refreshing video game.
What kind of games do you think the Nemesis System will help inspire in the coming years?
