I recently bought some milights just to try them. I have to say it's a frustrating user experience because when they're turned off at the (dumb or smart) switch, they're inaccessible. If I turn a dumb light off with smart switch, the switch is still accessible physically and over the LAN, and that means the light is still accessible.
Wouldn't a better technology involve a smart switch that treats "off" as "0% brightness" so that the bulbs could still receive commands?

I would suggest getting zwave light switches since it is still accessible when the brightness is 0% or even set to off.

Smart switches do seem to work best at the moment, but then you lose the color control that "smart" lights offer. I think we need a new generation of bulbs and switches, where the switches provide power, dimming, and color, and the bulbs just receive commands from the switch.

You could get a combination of light switches with Philips LED RGB lights OR get a Fibaro LED light switch.
