If you think you can be part of the solution, by modelling and promoting good behavior while neither antagonizing nor encouraging those who act out their internal brokenness here, then please stay because this place desperately needs such people. Otherwise, you can probably find more productive ways to spend your time, like sex, or video games, or whatever.

Right now that's like trying to make the ocean less salty by "watering it down" with a bucket of tap water.

Otherwise, you can probably find more productive ways to spend your time, like sex, or video games, or whatever.

Way ahead of you.

Voat right now:

TL:DR: Reddit sucks we hate fat people and our mods are bad.

I'm waiting for all this to blow over before I start really contributing to this website. I've had enough website dramas really.

Wouldn't it be better to bury all the drama bullshit with good content instead? get crackin!

Post good content and ignore the drama. You can't just wait around for it to get better if you aren't going to help those of us trying.

I think we joined around the same time. It was a lot quieter then. I'm glad things are picking up, but I understand what you mean. I block a lot. Things have been spilling over recently though. I'd say give it time. Remember the incessant bitching about reddit that used to plague voat? It used to bleed into other verses as well.

My advice based on my own experience? Every time I see some bullshit-ass post that I hate with all my guts, I go to it and either block the whole subverse, or unsubscribe. Things have gotten way better since I got aggressive with those features. I had to make some hard choices with some subs I like that I ended up unsubscribing from. Between unsubscribing and blocking, I think you can make a great experience here, getting the content in the way that you need to get it, if that makes sense.

And if the drama continues to spread am I to continue that course until every active subverse is blocked? Looking away from the problem will make my life easier, but it will not make the problem go away. I would rather see this problem addressed in some fashion than see it slowly seep into everything. I do not believe it is too late to fix the problem, but continuing to hide from it will rapidly take things there.

How do you address it though with making things worse? If the mods and admins push back against these people it'll just make it worse. Better to just let them get it out of their systems and have average users downvoat them, tell them they don't enjoy popular support, and that spamming their bullshit isn't the answer, and they'll calm down eventually. You'll run into this at any similar site, so you can either make a stand here or keep migrating forever.

Yes, because our usernames totally take precedence over what we say and do. I assume that means it's okay for me to disregard you if I dislike French people or geeks?
