I’m looking for people on PC to farm Pacific Standard with between roughly 6:00PM and 12:00 AM (midnight) Pacific Standard Time (currently Pacific Daylight Time) on whatever day of the week.
I’ve successfully led random pick up groups through the setups and finale many times, so please do not be afraid to join up if you’re worried about being inexperienced. I have no problem explaining things; all that I require of you is basic competence in combat, patience with people who are learning (they’ll be old hands soon enough), as well as the ability to read, understand, and respond in written English. Microphones and voice chat are not required (I do not use one and I have incoming voice chat disabled). I absolutely use voice chat in some (PvP) games, but for a well-organized team the Pacific Standard missions are predictable enough to not require the use of voice comms. If that’s a deal breaker for you, then so be it.
To be clear, when I refer to basic competence in combat I mean that you should be able to shoot (with free aim settings, at least while I’m hosting), drive, shoot while driving, and effectively use (as needed) cover, snacks, armor, and the black and grey heavy utility vests (the stealth heavy utility vest does nothing!). This does not mean that you will be required to wear a heavy utility vest at all times, but if you choose not to wear one then you better not be repeatedly dying and forcing restarts. I fully agree that it is sometimes better not to wear a utility vest; for example, if I’m money carrier during Pacific’s finale the ability to sprint is clearly more important than damage reduction as I should be getting shot rarely if at all. It is my personal belief that anyone can attain a basic level of competence in GTA V combat provided someone teaches them (or they educate themselves), so if you don’t understand what I mean when I refer to cover, snacks, armor, and the heavy utility vests, then ask me and I will explain.
When I’m hosting, I’ll be doing a 40/20/20/20 split provided the 20%ers helped with at least two setup missions. In other words, if you only helped with one setup mission, then regardless of your level or experience you’ll be getting 15% on the finale (cuts are determined on an individual basis). The exception to this rule is if you’re already a trusted friend who has helped me in the past, then you’ve earned the right to 20% in perpetuity. When you’re hosting you can set the cut however you like, though be forewarned if I do all the setups with you and you give me less than 20% I likely won’t be running Pacific with you again.
Finally, you must be fine with using the apartment-Kuruma/Insurgent method (personally I think the Insurgent is better after the update to make it AWD; if you don’t believe me then come and bear witness!) instead of the bikes. I know some people like the bikes, and I’d be happy to ride motorbikes and/or BMXs with you when we’re not doing a heist, but the reality is that people on bikes die way more often than people in kurumas or insurgents, and since people frequently disconnect from R*s crappy servers and force the whole mission to start anew it’s important to minimize the number of deaths and restarts so we get the mission finished quickly.
If what I propose sounds appealing to you, then please send a message specifically mentioning your desire to farm Pacific Standard and listing your hours of availability to my in-game username: Redd_Rumm. Within 24 hours I will add you to my friend’s list and send you a reply confirming that I have received your message and you have joined the Pacific Standard farm invite list. If I do not reply to you in-game within 24 hours, then please post a response here to ensure that your message has not somehow been lost or sent to the wrong person.
Thank you for reading,
P.S. Bonus points if you have a Romero Hearse to drive to the bank on the finale; it’s good luck. If you don’t have one yet, then maybe we can see about getting you one. :)
