Removed for rule 6:

All politics posts must go into the stickied politics megathread, which is refreshed on the 1st and 15th of every month. If something big is happening (eg. the M855 ban), the moderators will create a specific megathread for that event at their discretion.

Could you post this as a comment in our political megathread instead? We're trying to keep all the political posts in one spot. Thanks!

"'You're carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I'm carrying a HUGE DILDO,'" Jin says in the group's description. "Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play."

those against [campus carry] say it makes little difference and could even add to the chaos.

But... but... when a "sociopathic shooter" starts shooting... your dildo... is... not going to stop them. But... another student's gun... would. I can't even the thought process that lead to that sentence.

Nevermind that if a "sociopathic shooter" knows that some students might have HUGE DILDOS, that's not going to deter them from shooting up the place. But if they know that some students might shoot back.... well, there's a reason that schools are such a popular target for the "sociopathic shooters" to conduct their mass shootings, and places like gun shows and police stations aren't.

I wrote a lot more but it wasn't anything that hadn't been said before.

Side note: Texas' Open Carry law goes into effect January 1, 2016, 8 months before this protest is scheduled so CHL holders would be licensed to carry openly or concealed, if "campus carry" passed.

The protesters are basically taking the old tired canard that gun owners are "less endowed" up to 11. Wearing strap-ons to protest firearms just makes them look petty and immature.
