What you are talking about would require some mechanical action to remove the existing magazine and inset a new one.

Currently the human operator is the mechanical action that performs this task.

The additional mechanical components that would have to be added to perform this function. Would add significantly to weight, and size of the weapon in have. Making it harder to use and less likely to be carried.

ya i kinda figured that.. what if it was more of a machine gun scenerio? if u had a mounted posituon and it took a box of 10 round mags u could shoot 100 shots as it cycled through? not sure how fast it could work?

Those mounted position weapons are generally fed from a belt of ammo that come out if a large box that often holds thousands of rounds all linked together. The links fall apart as they feed through the weapon. I have seen them in 1000 round boxes for field use on a crew served carry weapon.
