It's unfortunate that Defense Distributed settled with the DOJ instead of actually going to court; now they're going to have to go to court all over again. And if they settle with NJ anothe state will take it on. Nibbled to death by ducks. And if they do avoid settlement offers the still-cucked court system may wind up ruling against them. The US ain't what it used to be. And (((they))) keep pushing how MAGA is "racist"...

I hope he wins, but we'll eventually end up going down that road anyway.

There's no way in hell that TPTB will allow people to have 3D printers, and the software to use them to make weapons. 3D printers could give us the Napster of guns. Libshits won't allow that to happen because "guns are bad, mmmmkay" and Conservitards won't allow it because it'll fuck with their cash flows.

We're going to see the same shit happen with 3D printers and design files that we saw happen with Napster, Youtube, and the entertainment industry.

If you want to have any freedom with a 3D printer then buy one now, get software that will allow you to make anything with it, and hold on to the tech like your grandma hangs on to her VCR.

EDIT: The only realistic way we can avoid this fate is to get the 3D printing community to impose limits on themselves until the technology is ubiquitous. Don't print guns. Don't print weapons. Don't print poky-mans, or anything else associated with a copyright. Let the technology fly under the radar, neglected, until there's a 3D printer in every home and every 12 y/o knows how to use it better than their parents. Do it like we did the Internet, but slower and quietly.

By that logic they will have to also ban vertical mills, lathes, etc. Then power tools, and then hammers, and pretty soon we'll be in the stone age.

They won't ban 3D printers from homes. They will just control the distribution and sharing of CAD files that allow people to easily "print" guns.

That seems to be what the left wants. Green energy, for instance, would make energy so expensive that only the rich would have access to it.

Not really. Even if you have all of the tools, most people won't know what to do with them. 3D printers allow morons to make complex things without effort.

Exactly, and in order to do that you can kiss our First Amendment goodbye.

Don't you know the military industry protects its own?

They don't like competition.

Bingo. And the libtards are all "guns are bad, mmmkay."
