In addition to individuals varying, a lot of sights these days are removable. That means they get hand tightened to the rifle, which can affect zero. In the case of red dots they usually have risers, you do have two pieces of hand tightening that can affect the zero.

ARs commonly do come “factory zeroed” for the sights which are permanently affixed, and it will be close, but you also want to double check things yourself.

With imported AKs don’t nobody give a fuck about factory zero. You’re lucky if they pressed the sights on straight through their vodka induced haze.
