I would rather have rule 6 permanent than for it to go away but I'd rather not have these discussions at all here if it were up to me. Like /u/Aramazd said, leave the politics out of it. This sub should be about guns and gun modifications only.

I like rule 6. Posts about legal implications in your state or country should be fine (i.e; questions about CCW), but there should be a separate sub for political discussions.

questions about CCW

I think these should be directed to /v/ccw. These questions aren't really gun related, they're law related and more specifically CCW related. If we have a megathread for political discussions we should also have one for legal discussions like CCW. But honestly I think they should just go to /v/ccw

Yeah, that makes sense. I didn't even know there was a subverse for that lol

I agree, anything related to CCW should got to /v/ccw

We need more traffic and submissions. I don't think the politics rule makes sense until it becomes an issue of pushing interesting stuff off the first page too fast. Sadly gun politics is a big part of gun ownership, I don't see a reason to separate the two at this point.

First, I'd like to thank you for your work here. This is a nice place, and I like the culture of transparency that you have embraced.

Second, I like rule 6, and I'd be happy to never see a political discussion again. I also frequent The High Road, where the political stuff is always easy to avoid. It really belongs in a separate subverse, but having it in the megathread works just fine too.

Third, I'll found that I would be unwelcome on /r/guns because I also participate in /r/trees, and the mods there believe this to be a tacit admission of a federal crime (this is not a personal ban, this is their policy which applies to everyone). I'm hoping we have left that sort of thing far behind us.

Personally i like the #6 rule and would like to see it become permanent.

Also, i just want to browse pictures of guns and different modifications that people own and have discussions about it. I feel that /v/guns should be about images of guns/modifications and or questions/concerns about guns, we should leave the politics out of it. Once again, this is my personal idea of what /v/guns should be about.

I think we're doing well. We should have some tactical discussions, and some debates. We all have our opinions so let's see what's more common!
