oh my goodness that title! You are just down with it this Friday huh?

Lol, I felt like hitting my guitar a wee bit and something, something... it's been too long but yeah!

In 45 minutes and what did I do for you lot?? This is what happened... phone recording and all! Woot!

It's called: Glorious by some Chowder Crowder guy, a cheesey dude no less. I like the song though and it was easy enough for newbie like me who has been very naughty in not picking up her guitar much...shh don't tell no one...

Relaxed Cover of Glorious by Nadeshda

Okay I have to go prep for some stuff, tables and signs etc... I'll be back in a bit....

@clamhurt_legbeard I did a thing... @Native @Voopin__Voopin @AR47 no locusts tonight and @Rotteuxx or whatever alt he is on...

[–] Redcobra 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Well done,I liked that.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks mister, very kind of you for listening! :) have a beautiful day!

[–] AR47 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Always love these tags....very very relaxing song this time...definitely going to do an eye of the tiger duet....lol. can't wait to maybe meet next year when I am in the area.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

I knoooooooow, yip we can plum holler it out! Sounds like a plan, Stan. We’ll see how the political landscape unfolds and I pray things work out to some degree. Things are very uncertain right now.

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

That real pretty. You ever do Hallelujah? You would kill that one.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I have but a good while ago. Thanks so much for listening, just got back had some errands to run. I’ll have to practice some more... lemme listen to some tunes... :)

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Beautiful. You've been missed 'round here.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Hey! Aw thanks, it was a fly by night on the run occurrence... I missed you all too, it has certainly been too long but rather late then never.

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Hi guys, I hope you were able to accomplish all projects and vendettas for the week.

In keeping with the spirit, here's a cover of a Pine Box Boys song.

The Gravedigger

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

That was good to listen too. Good job man!

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Thanks!

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

I've never heard that before. I kinda like it. It has loads of room to put a lead over it, something intertwining with the rhythm throughout.

Thanks for sharing and bringing it to my attention.

The thread is good for that. I get to hear music I've never heard before.

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Oddly enough, I was introduced to PBB right here on Voat. Their music is like a weird Mandela Effect, where we slip back in time to 1973, and Alice Cooper's Billion Dollar Babies somehow gets crossed with Eagles' Desperado.

[–] COF 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Nice, I wonder how it would sound on a dobro.

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I bet it would sound right. The dobro is a pretty lonesome instrument.

The original version has an unnerving fiddle solo, like satan playing in a cemetery.

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Very nice to listen to. That was cool, kinda swamp rock which is always enjoyable! It’s so good to hear you playing and singing!

[–] grandmacaesar 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks much!

[–] catfishjones 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Did I ever share my cover of Crying On Saturday Night ?

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 5 points (+6|-1) ago

I do not believe you have, until now.

However, you can actually look that up. Everything you've ever shared in these threads is at https://fngt.gq - and the search function does a pretty decent job.

LOL We've shared so many tracks that we check it frequently to make sure we're not replicating something we've already shared.

Also, I have serious beard envy.

[–] catfishjones 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Its a neat site. I've fished around on it a bit. I'm SUPER glad it exists for potential unexpected outages.

[–] nigger_plz 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

I love that. You know they did a song like that on Back to the Future. I think it was Earth Angel.

You sang the hell out of that song. I can see you wailing in the car to that tune.

The only thing I know about the Misfits is every young cat wears their T-shirts.

[–] cynicaloldfart 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Good ear, it was indeed Earth Angel by The Penguins:

https://musicfor.us/2018/09/11/the-penguins-earth-angel-1954/

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Very well done sir!

[–] COF 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago  (edited ago)

I don't know the song but it has a strong Buddy Holly vibe to it. Very nice job. You've got some power behind those pipes.

[–] NoTrueScotsman 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

Today's medley tunes are The Herringboat Song, Will Ye No Come Back Again, Bonnie Galloway, and Blue Bells of Scotland. With a short intro from a baby.

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

LOL It did indeed have a baby intro. I also think that might be the longest piece you've so far shared.

[–] NoTrueScotsman 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Probably the second longest, I know I played a piobaireachd one for you a long time ago. The Company's Lament was probably around 10 minutes

[–] sguevar 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

The intro killed me because after it when the pipes I cracked real good

[–] COF 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Alright, 2 weeks in a row, thanks! You're sounding great.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Sounds like you're really getting the hang of those pipes

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 9 points (+9|-0) ago

You pang mi lord?

All manor of crazy things may happen on Friday the 13th.

Here's a couple of things that fell out of my uke for starters.

This one is from last year. I was playing around with stretching out a progression and changing it's flavor.

https://clyp.it/iwvl051l

This is something I was stumbling through last night while watching a podcast. I recorded it on my phone this morning

best I could remember just to capture the idea. It has an uneasy kinda feel to it. If you listen closely there is a

large gust of wind at the end.

https://clyp.it/1nik14yy

[–] catfishjones 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

That second one had some nice darkness to it. great sound on both for sure.

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

The podcast I watched was a bit dark too. I'm using chords that I wouldn't normally put together but it seemed to work in that context.

[–] COF 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Great to hear a uke. These are different in picking instead of the strumming most play, I like it.

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Thanks. What I really like about finger picking is how every so often something magical happens with the rhythm and dynamics such that the pattern seems to change and really come alive. There's something meditative about it.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

The first one sounded nice and relaxing, now I'm all tense LoL

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

NP, just listen to the first again. Seriously though, there is something haunting about that second progression.

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

The first one sounds eerily familiar.

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Yeah, I think it's a whole bunch of stuff I've heard over the years smashed together.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Hello everybody. Hope you're all having a good time. I made this here music and recorded it and thought that needs words so I made up some words and sang it. Here's the Thought Police

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

You threw lots of dirt on it this week!

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Yeah I sure did!

[–] Nadeshda 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I like Crazy... :) it makes me smile! Freagin awesome! Dood, those words! Hehe

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Why thank you! It seemed apt

[–] Psilocyber 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

That's really tight man! I like it.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Thanks! I appreciate you listening

[–] sguevar 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Dang that is a strong guitar. Good tune.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Thank you!!!

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 8 points (+9|-1) ago

Hello and welcome to another FNGT! Like normal, we'll go ahead and get you started.

This might be one of the largest tracks we've released to date. It's a rather complicated and lengthy affair. It seemed an appropriate tribute for Mustard of Puppets, who deleted their account - without even saying goodbye! We'd have recorded this sooner, but it took Biff quite some time to learn her half of the song.

Without further ado...

Metallica - Master of Puppets (B #2 & B; TB #1 & P)

Crank it up, because this song should be played loud enough to piss off your neighbors! Also... This is my wife, in whom I am well pleased. She managed to nail her half of the song. Even the 'easy' parts were a bit of a challenge for her, but she managed.

Rock on, goats! Rock on!

[–] spyder228 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Fucking impressive. Great work. Also - I didn't realize that song was that long.

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

Thanks (and a thanks from the wife). It's a hell of a long song and brutal to play consistently. You need to really work on it to get the tone right and the playing is equally difficult.

[–] COF 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

That's damn tasty. Your drumming is great and precise and Biff's bass work is absolutely perfect. I like the guitar effects.

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

I never asked. But, I always assumed that was Mustard's namesake.

It took a bit to get that one out the door, due to the complexity and Biff needing to learn her half. Glad ya liked it!

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I don't want to say that I'm certain.

However, look at the results of this week vs. the last few weeks. It's not a bad turnout.

I suspect, indeed strongly suspect, that the mass pings made a difference. I obviously can't prove it. I can't even say I'm certain that that's the reason for the good turnout.

But, check the views and comment numbers. The views are pretty impressive, actually. It's at 72 right now.

[–] crazy_eyes 0 points 5 points (+5|-0) ago

Hell fucking yeah! That sounds great! I can hear James screaming at me in my head! Excellent!!

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 1 point 4 points (+5|-1) ago

LOL It took longer to get that out the door than expected. Glad ya liked it. It took Biff a bit to learn that one.

[–] TheBuddha 0 points 1 point (+1|-0) ago

Also, it's not what I thought it was (in the commercial that included the hook from a Dirty Ol' Bastard song). It's "Baby I've got your laundry." It's LG washing machines. It is not 'baby I've got your number', it's 'laundry.'

Still, it's a Dirty Ol' Bastard song about drug addicted hookers and him being their pimp. That didn't change. What changed is I listened more carefully. It doesn't make it better. If anything, it makes it work. I mean, now the implication is that if she doesn't do the laundry she's gonna get pimp-slapped?!?

I have no idea what LG was going for with this one...

[–] Redcobra 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Was just talking to a buddy the other night something along the lines of you don’t really appreciate how good you have to be at guitar in order to be good at guitar, untill you start learning guitar.

Honestly super tight.

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

I don't think I've ever met many that initially thought it was going to be really hard to learn how to play the guitar well.

It's inevitable that I tell them that it's hard and they'll say things like, "Well, I pick things up easily." Or, "I don't think it will be hard."

Maybe, in all my years, have I heard it from a half dozen people - out of hundreds, or even thousands of similar conversations.

Even those that acknowledge it is hard don't realize exactly how hard it truly is.

It has taken Biff going on three years to get to this point - and she practices an average of four hours per day, every single day.

[–] sguevar 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Well here it is after scolding my dogs for barking in the middle of the recording, having my wife ask me for breakfast (she is working) and coming down the stairs, here it is, not the best but not the worst I've done:

House of the Rising Sun cover

Hope you guys like it

@crazy_eyes, @TheBuddhasBong, @Deshy, @Nadeshda

[–] TheBuddhasBong [S] 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Nice! Thanks for sharing.

For some bizarre reason, that's a song I can't play or sing at the same time.

[–] sguevar 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

You know me - I Karaoke it XD

[–] COF 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Very nice, I'm glad you could get around to it. The song is old with a long history. Here's some of that story:
