I should really rewrite this intro:
It's that time again, a time when we get together and share our work, talk about performing, talk about practice, ask questions, and see if we can push ourselves to new levels of enjoyment. The most important thing is that we enjoy ourselves.
Some of us play for fun. Some of us are professionals. Some of us play with our friends. Some of us are just learning. Some of us don't even really play at all. It doesn't matter, we want to hear you play as well as you can - or just play.
I don't care if you play a kazoo - I want to hear it and, if history is any guide, the rest of the folks who frequent this thread also want to hear it. So, no matter what you play, come share it with us. If we like the song, we'll sing along when we all get to the chorus!
Grab your guitar and your cell phone - and play us a song. Sing for us! Play a piano. Make electronic music. Play a kazoo, blow a trumpet, bang a xylophone! We don't mind - we want to hear all of it, not just guitar.

I try to set a good example. I am diligent about my practice. She puts in more hours than I do. She needs the practice!
She's getting good. It was creative and it got the comments expected of her. I actually told her the grade wasn't closed until we found out what folks thought.
She impressed me with this one. It's much better than I expected. She pays attention and works hard. I don't say that because it's her. I say that because I'm impressed.

I've told her before that my affections for her can make me a little biased, but I try very hard to be objective with her playing. She has progressed so quickly and well she deserves the praise she gets, noting that it is because of her dedication and practice. She's learned well from you to not put anything out that doesn't meet her standards and that's a good thing.

I do wish she'd spend more time learning the theory more than the answers. But, there's ample time for that. She's doing fine. Right now, it's mostly rote memorization of certain scales and licks that go with certain keys and what chords will harmonize with them.
She has much left to learn. She says, "Told you. I'm going to be a legend."

I'm trying to make sure she gets the attention, but you can bet your bippy I'm proud. ;-)
She does have a significant advantage. She lives here. That certainly speeds things up. She's way ahead of where. Expected her to be, at least in many areas.
