You don't? I mean Freddy is basically the greatest male rock singer of all time and Lemmy smoked a fuck ton of cigarettes each day and yet somehow made that raspy voice work! It was a philosophical question on why either worked:)

I think it's the 'or' part that I'm stuck on?

Which one is right? Fucked if I know. Why do they work? Fucked if I know. Which do I prefer? Probably Mercury, I suppose.

I'm not sure that I even have a favorite vocalist. At this moment in time, I'm an Axl Rose fan but I'd be hard pressed to say he's my favorite.

My only vocal skills are that I can mimic a number of artists to the point where people sometimes mistake me for the original. I actually kinda hate singing, at least some of the time. I have some decent control and range, but I lack power and projection. I will never be a good vocalist. I don't even have my own voice. I seldom sing like me and I'm not sure that I can sing like me. I simply mimic other vocalists.

I've worked with good vocalists. I am not one. I'm not really qualified to opine.

Err... I hope that makes sense?

Yeah 'or' questions suggest there are only two extremes and nothing in between. Which I personally find obnoxious in any matter, but also found the desire to ask for that very reason:P

I fucking love Brian Johnson, but I too have to admit Axl did very well with the ACDC gig. And the reformed GNR as well.. He still got it no doubt. Speaking of GNR and this being a guitar forum I can't believe how much Slash has improved over the years. We're not worthy!
