No, I'm willing to spend 5 to 6k on it, I want her to have a real first guitar that she can call her own and rock on.

Whoa, that's a lot of blueberries!

I'll suggest it anyway, for a few hundred bucks: I used to drool over Agile LP clones, and I think they have a good reputation. They have cool colors and veneers.

Yeah, but it is her first guitar and I want that to be one she can be proud of. She's right beside me, right now. She can walk over and pick up a PRS, or many more. She knows their names and years, almost as well as I do.

So, it has to be significant and a solid guitar that will last the rest of her life, even if she subjects it to the wear and tear of gigging. It has to be one that she still has when she dies.

I'm really thinking a new GLP Standard. She says she likes the blue topped one, some pedals, and a cabinet because she is convinced I don't use my amp heads often enough.

you can buy the parts that make a expensive guitar sound nice for the low. but if you really care about brandname, Ibanez prestige.

Oh, we can do better than an Ibanez.
