I'd not worry about it yet - but if you start branching out then I'd consider it.

I'm not going to hire a lawyer anytime soon. That I know of. Hopefully. I'm knocking on wood.

Yeah, hopefully you won't need one - but if you branch out and start doing gigs and making serious money from it, it's probably time to speak with a lawyer.
Nobody ever listens to this rule - but it is a rule. My current band has both a criminal and civil lawyer already retained. It's also registered as a business and has the appropriate tax-ID. Band members are contract employees of the business.
