90% of our water use is through farming. Unless you're in an area that's in a heavy drought, the difference between low flow and high flow shower heads aren't going to make much of a difference at all, EVEN if everyone used them.

I'm not saying "don't conserve" I'm saying "not buying certain foods will conserve many, many times more than any personal water consumption would save"

Another question they want to know is: would you be willing to use an app over 5 days that would aid you in timing your shower time length, and calculate your total amount used, and then it would either automatically e-mail that 5 day info, or aid you in doing it. Would people participate via an app like this, or not? IF not, then why not? -Thanks!

Not all low-flow shower heads are equally effective. I use this shower head series, a low cost version that is switchable for high/low flow rates only $20.00 on Amazon.

The reason this shower head is effective is that at low flow rates it feels like a full flow shower head, not just a trickle or fine mist or anything.

It might be interesting to gather data on whether or not the low-flow shower heads flow what they say they do, or if they're cheating. Of course it depends on your water pressure. I set mine to a low 60 PSI at the regulator.

The majority of water is wasted if you let the shower run while you are lathering and not actually rinsing, so a person's shower practices could be another data point, to determine whether or not the water savings are significant. You may want to instruct people to let the shower run for the entire shower to keep some control over that, or simply gather that as another variable.

Sorry I'm not willing to use an app to gather data for your son's project.
