It's like when you have a cable on the desk and an end goes over. It pulls the rest down.

You can save on electricity that way. If the cable is directing the power to flow downhill, then gravity will help pull the electrons and improve the efficiency of the whole system.

But current is actually electron hole flow, so it actually works better to angle the cable uphill so the holes can float upward. Unless the device has a back hole, of course, then downhill is better.
