I wonder how that would affect how a world develops. I think we have lost a lot with not being able to see the sky at night like we used to. The days when you'd go outside and the infinite starry expanse of terrifying eternity staring back at you is pretty impressive. Now we see a few stars, maybe a bunch of orange with one star in it. At least the majority of people in the world see that.

I do love technology, but it's insane looking up at the sky out in an Arizona desert in the middle of nowhere nothing but you, a deep whole, and an oddly shaped trashbag and the sky.

Not sure why...but my first thought was the insane tides we'd get from Jupiter or Saturn being that close. I mean they'd all have an effect, but Jupiter looks like it would drain oceans.
