It is likely the trailer was loaded improperly. Might have had water tanks full. There has to be some weight on the tongue. If there is too much weight behind the trailer's axles and negative tongue weight, or not enough tongue weight, this happens. What you do is release the accelerator pedal and manually apply the trailer brakes to stop the swaying. This was not done here, obviously.

There was a bunch of crap strapped to the back of the trailer exactly where you don't want any extra weight.

common misconception doing this would just make things worse, not as bad as over correcting + braking but bad. what he should have done is accelerate hard. Accelerating pulls the trailer back behind you.
