The amish are awesome.

Pacifist fundamentalist christians who believe that it's no place of theirs to judge you; that's reserved soley for God.

That doesn't necessarily mean that they want anything to do with us "English" or our help. They mostly just want to be left alone for religious freedom reasons. What could possibly be more American?

This and this. I admire the Amish people. They have strong ethics and good values.

I remember when we used to make fun of the Amish, back before globalists and degenerates spread like wildfire.

Unfortunately, their isolationism results in a high rate of inbreeding, and subsequent genetic diseases.

The trick is to not be the product of 1300 years of inbreeding.

If there was a society like this only with technology, I would do anything I could to join. Hell, if anything ever happens to my brother I'll probably go beg to join the nearest Amish community. Part of my frustration with society is how little it values an honest days hard work. It makes sense to value what has the most monetary value, but I just want to work hard to build something better without struggling paycheck to paycheck.

Why would you want to ionize them?

That's how well a homogeneous, mostly self-sustained community can get shit done.

Always been curious what they do with their.... Dead weight.. They have to have the occasional lazy members that don't want to contribute. Are they just better at fixing the behavior before it gets too far? Do they just tough love it and leave them to pitch in or die? Or does rumspringa sort it out?

They'll beat the biblical shit outta you until you start acting right in the eyes of the Lord. If that don't take, then they'll prolly shun you outta the village.

They take care of their own. There's always something to do around the farm. They will run scrapping buisnesses too.

They let everyone leave temporarily at 18, to see if they like how we live. I assume that flushes out some opportunists.

Man I'd love to get involved but I'd just get in the way. Would they be down with people setting up patio chairs?

Also I like how they split the labor on the two buildings and were only 10% behind on the one when the other finished. Just needed the roof. Good project management.

It's the very religious nature that makes that kind of dedication to work possible.

It's not what makes it possible, but it is something that lends itself towards it. Worker drones essentially.

Colossians 3:23-24Amplified Bible (AMP)

23 Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [greatest] reward. It is the Lord Christ whom you [actually] serve.

That brings up a question. What version of the Bible do the Amish use? Who produces it for them? Do they have large printing presses or do they copy the entire thing by hand?
