"Who doesn’t love a good story? Conversely, who doesn’t enjoy getting shot in the head by some obnoxiously vocal kid? Exactly! Point proven: PvE is better than PvP!
Thanks for reading…
…Greg, I was really hoping for a bit more on this (Jim, Editor-in-Chief).
Right, so apparently, I have to flesh my argument out a bit! To understand my reticence to PvP, you must understand that I am part of the OG. I’m not referring to the urban translation of “Original Gangster”, but rather “Old Guard”, the original generation of gamers. You youngsters will probably translate it as “Old Gamer”, that’s fair too, I guess.
Back in the day, prior to the invention of the internet – yes, such times did exist"

Hell yeah. I used to be a monster on call of duty. Shotgun with light weight/scavenger perks. Run and gun. Same with Halo 1. Using the pistol to snipe people on the opposite side of blood gulch. Headshots every time if you practiced with that pistol. They nerfed it in halo 2.
Now, I can't even play FPS online. Meaning, I literally can't play. I get killed so fast that its not even fun.

Mein schwarze! Halo 1 was my favorite split screen FPS, and my friends spent hours using that inexplicably scoped pistol. I hit it big with CoD during World at War and MW2, and was in a top 100 clan for a bit. I used LMGs mostly, so you were probably the guy I called a mother fucker when I got blasted while mounting up in a window.
I tried the Modern Warfare MP trial since they released it to the Warzone crew. If you're looking to feel any sense of nostalgia, don't bother. Apparently the MP7 is the only gun you're allowed to use, because the meta has already crystallized around that gun. I don't know why I expected a brief glimpse back to the glory days, but I got exactly what I stupidly deserved.

I don't even bother with the xbox anymore. I want to, but I drive and have kids so I don't have the time or energy.
I was around 12-13 when halo came out. That pistol caused arguments. I would play with my adult brother-in-law and his friends. He would have Lan parties and what not. I remember, as a preteen mind you, having grown men yelling at me that I must be cheating or screen watching or something. It got to the point that I was put on my own TV in my own room to play them. After that, I remember my brother-in-law dieing laughing because his friend, a grown ass man, got so angry he just packed up his xbox and left.
Sorry. This is just bringing back memories.
