I didn't think Nintendo would be a cunt in new ways; this is the first hack they went after (maybe because it got the attention). I underestimated that.

This isn't new, this is the same shit they've been doing since the beginning. If anything they're showing us exactly how consistently cunty they are.

This is the first time they've gone after a romhack, so it is new.

That's quite a bummer.

Understatement. Nintendo has been crushing years of work by many, many talented people and hopes of fans supporting those projects.

So, who's going to start the IndieGoGo campaign to fund the lawsuit against Nintendon't?

They've gone TOO far! Ok...who's responsible for those orders? Reggie, Kimishima, legal team, board of directors?

I think this is even more dickish than the rest of them. The fact that they issued this order days before the release makes it even worse.

I bet the one who received will not fight back and tries to calm people by saying "It's their right to do so". Sorry, but this doesn't help.

I think you'd have to be a huge doormat to work on something for eight years and have it done for months only to stop now. Legally, he can leak it and tell them to shove it (which is what happened with the FFType-0 translation patch when Squeenix wanted it axed because they were going to localise the PS4/XB1 versions).

Then again, I thought Nintendo wouldn't do this so I'm bound to be wrong again.

That's what I would do. Finish it and just quietly leak it while hiding from the big N lol.

Once again people don't understand why companies protect there content. I know I will be met with oh it's wrong, they shouldn't be like that blah blah. It's there ip copyright or whatever laws these people are breaking by trying to release this.

Non-profit patches don't break copyright laws. Also IP holders don't have to take down everything to protect their IP. SEGA isn't going to lose Sonic because they're nice to fan-created content.

Patch is that what people are calling rom hacks nowadays? Honestly Sega is Sega . I'm just saying what do people expect from them. If you pull a trigger on a loaded gun it fires you don't pull it a second time and expect a pizza to pop out. They have shown that they don't put up with this shit yet people still bitch when it happens

That's not true at all.
