Blizzard is like George Lucas trying his damned best to convince the world that Greedo always shot first and that he always intended for Star Wars to look like the special editions.

I'll never buy another one of their products simply for being so goddamn arrogant and condescending. Yes, Blizzard, I actually do want to play Vanilla WoW. Some of the improvements that have come did make the game better, like the talents. But the itemization just turned into one huge power creep and made progressing pointless because it turned every item you ever ground up and earned worthless. That's the reason I don't play anymore. There was so much content in the game that was simply out-moded there was no point in doing it.
Any dev worth their salt would have gone back to those areas and improved them instead of shoveling in new flashy looking shit at the expense of the old. And Cataclysm just made things worse by deleting old zones instead of improving them for the sake of "lore progression" . Fuck me man. Don't you guys get that some people will be new and not get to have the same experience as the legacy players?
God damn Blizzard.

I'm finding it very irritating that this server is getting so much attention but when my server I played on went down (it had 400,000+ active players on it, 90,000 daily users) no one batted an eye. Guess it's probably because the community on that server didn't make a scene about it though. But the owner of the server I played on owes Blizzard 88 million dollars and is in prison now. So GG.

Oh course they lost touch with their WoW fans. Over time they changed the game so much that that the WoW fans left to private servers to continue playing WoW instead of whatever it was blizz was trying to force feed them.

If I had a WoW server and recived a "Cease and Desist" letter. I would've automatically tear up the letter, send it back to them, and keep the private servers online in defiance.

Even Jagex made Oldschool Runescape available for those who wanted it.

Man, I had just gotten my mount and my guild had just ran a full zg guild only run. It was about to be really exciting.

So how was the server? Was it really just bare bones vanilla WoW with all of the same balance problems and lack of quality of life features or was it a mix?
[–] LordFapalot 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
yep. pure vanilla. Even the lag was there :D I do think a couple of the stupid quest items drops were tweaked to have a bit of a higher chance tho.

I have stopped playing retail WoW when wrath of the lich king surfaced. I started playing vanilla and TBC private servers. On many occasions I posted on the real WoW forums that it would benefit blizzard and the players if they made Vanilla and TBC servers themselves. But they said it would be too expansive.
If that is true, how do I play on a donation based server?
[–] 1d3 ago
Blizzard just doesn't wanna admit that opening legacy servers would likely prove that their old game is better than their new game. Vanilla + TBC would be more populated than WoD, most likely.

They are always /care for the money, why aren't they doing that right now?
