What you're encouraged to post:
Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.

More like a major money grab. The game was supposed to be free to play. Why anyone is paying money for a F2p game is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I considered it, but the day of launch when everyone was going crazy about the game, I decided to sit back and watch someone stream it. Realized it was no better than WarZ and moved on with my money.

I have 44 hrs in game.
It felt so unfinished.
Still I dont feel ripped off, I spent more money on dinner.

The "game" (what little there is to actually play) is basically a "pay2alpha test" business model, and it is currently (!) the #8 top seller on Steam. It's absolutely brilliant.

Scam Simulator 2016.

If by "brilliant" you mean "bright because it's an irradiated cancer causing turd" then sure. The game is terrible.

This is how I get most of my games. Not by watching streams, but the holding out and not buying immediately. I'd say I buy fairly infrequently, but just recently I bought Rise of the Tomb Raider for £26 from GMG because of a 27% discount going around, along with the £5 price drop to match Steam. Hesitance pays off sometimes. I still remember when I snagged Mass Effect 3 for £20 like a week after release thanks to the outcry over the ending.

I've dealt with Sony Online Entertainment, and now Daybreak since 2002 when I started playing EverQuest.
I have held absofuckinglutely zero faith in them for years now. To read that they have screwed the pooch on another IP doesn't astound me one bit. Everything they touch turns to shit.

Every EverQuest expansion seems to be a contest to see how little they can do, and still get people to buy it. The newest one is just more EQ2 lore shoehorned into EQ, and a handful of reskinned zones. Spells have been just renamed old spells for years now in "spell lines". Nothing new, just different numbers in a database. Same with AA. I still love the game, but it's pretty sad. The Broken Mirror is the first digital only release that I haven't pre-ordered. I just had no faith in the product.
Landmark, for all the talk and hubbub about how "players will be building the world of EverQuest Next" is... Minecraft, which I don't get the appeal of anyway.

I've noticed a trend regarding these early access survival games.

I wanted to try the game after early access status ends and supposedly it should've become f2p. A year I waited and now they announce splitting in 2 different games and still early access and not f2p.
I guess I'll skip it for now.

Anyone who played Planetside 2 (which uses the same engine) should've expected nothing less.
Not that Planetside 2 is a bad game... It's my favorite FPS ever, and I've sunk hundreds of hours into it. But Daybreak/SOE is not known for releasing complete games. The first players are Alpha testers.

When SOE goes early access, you get whatever is 10 steps before alpha.
