What you're encouraged to post:
Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.
If you're not sure, ask!
If you wish to, you can archive your posts here.

I did not see this.
This is why I asked. Haven't spent a lot of time here. Point taken.

I've only been here a couple of days, but from what I can tell, there are a lot of people here, and a lot of people who want this place to take off. The biggest problem I see is that everybody is spread too thin. I've posted on message boards much smaller than this one that seemed much more active because all the activity was concentrated in a few places. /v/casualconversation is a place I like because it resembles smaller boards.
The truth is, if you want the size and breadth of reddit, reddit still exists. If you want something more intimate with the potential to start from scratch and build something new, you'll like it here. A lot of the subs you'll find on reddit won't work on here, because sometimes you need tens of thousands of users in a main sub to spawn a secondary sub that is viable. Just like I remember when reddit was too small for individual sports team subs to be viable because there just weren't enough fans on the site as a whole, while now those are some of the most unique and vibrant places on the whole site. It seems clearer and clearer to me that forums like these have life cycles that work organically, and that things become popular when the site as a whole is ready for them.

I see your point. Thanks for your elaborate explanation (no sarcasm).
