Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.

If Nintendo pushes VR gaming again, they're not going to name their new product after their last disastrous try.

Yeah I agree. Even for the 'nostalgia' factor, they wouldn't risk that.

That would be like Miscrosoft calling Windows 10, Vista 2.

My request would be, do what you want, make it as cutting edge as you want, but let's get an option to literally make everything red. I just want that option, and my buying of said device would be contingent upon that option.
But I'm only one man, so take that for what it's worth.

I understand they feel they need to get into the VR market, but anything with the name of Virtual Boy will fail.

It would be neat but I doubt it. Lets all think about this for a second. What kind of games does Nintendo make? You could answer that in several ways, most would work, but what I was looking for is third-person. VR only really works in first-person, so I don't think they would. Also I think the addition of VR would increase the price of the console quite a bit so that wouldn't be incredibly smart either. Not sure if this is relevant but full disclosure: I really dislike Nintendo as a company.

Uh... Hm.
I remember those at the GDC saying that, while VR was being pushed, no one believed it has any legitimate traction. While that's GDC, I DO get the feeling that there may be a wee bit too many hands in that pot at the moment. But I guess more competition is good...?

Is this related to the Nintendo NX announcement? I really hope this is true because I feel like it will honour Gunpei Yokoi. Yes. I hope they keep the name. I know some people will say to toss the name, because of the possible confusion, but will there really be confusion? Look at the Xbox One. That came out okay.
Anyway, I think this will be successful as long as the price is good, and they don't make it an isolating experience. One person wears the VR goggles, and others can join in with the tablet, and/or TV. If I recall the Virtual Boy failed because people found it to be too isolating, and of course, technologically it was not sufficient.
