Reprojection creates an additional frame between the first and second frame, this way, 60 fps becomes smoother 120 fps. In fact, Sony has confirmed that reprojection will always be on, even if the game runs at 120 fps natively. This is to ensure that it’s always 120 fps no matter what.

They are faking it. At best they will use some DSP/Image processor to do interpolation between the frames to produce these magical extra frames. At worst they will simply clone the frame and show it twice. In neither case is the actual graphics hardware pushing out 120.

I wouldn't expect the current wave of VR to become a staple just yet. Motion sickness isn't a technical glitch its a biological one.
