What you're encouraged to post:
Games! We should talk about games more than anything! New releases, old favorites, Speed Runs, Let's Play's, development news, what we love, what we hate and so on and so forth.
Try to post things that create discussion. We want people to feel engaged and feel their voices are heard, rather than to be a place of disposable content.
If you're not sure, ask!

I love the Civ. franchise, but Beyond Earth just didn't do it for me. It just didn't feel like an actual Civilization game. Without connection to historical technology or technology that is just over the horizon it just felt like they were winging it for the sake of cool items.
I'll be happy to revisit it, but they are going to have to make some serious changes to keep me playing.

My thoughts exactly. BE felt thin and unsatisfying, and the occasional references to Alpha Centauri only served to draw attention to its lack of soul or personality. It didn't contain any 'mind=blown' concepts like I'd expect from good sci-fi, and the gameplay was hardly innovative either. I only played four or five games before getting bored and giving up.
A substantial expansion pack could improve things in future, but I can't see BE's problems being fixed if the same uninspired perspective and mediocre vision is applied.

Yeah, I figure I'll pick it up in a couple years when there's been two expansions and 4 more patches.
