Performance - based on our tests, you may experience up to 10% degraded performance in comparison to the Windows version.

So unplayable ?

It is experimental, so it could be there's some optimization left to be done. I'm just glad that more devs are exploring Linux as an option, and I hope that they continue fleshing this one out.

I'm currently downloading it to try, just had to report in asap when I saw the news on Steam... Although the news there are from August 31st (Monday). The point was to see if someone cared to give it some popularity and push the devs to focus on this.

I'll report back here to tell the tale after playing dying.

Late to reply, but I wasn't able to get further than the game menu, the UI didn't work for me. Moving around in menu worked until I loaded a mission.

I'll wait for a few updates to come and hope I can try it then. Seems other people are able to play it so it isn't unworthy of trying.

I wonder if they will try to do this with DayZ. No wait, it's Alpher, no features shall work until Beta releases in 2020.

Tried it last night and i found it to be quite playable on my slightly old rig. Sure i can make it struggle if i push everything to ultra (~17fps)@1440p. AMD 1090T 20Gb Ram Gtx 770 Running Arch Linux

Nice to see your older system is doing well as well as my newer system. I'm really quite happy with how it's turned out so far.

It performed well enough initially that I didn't even realise it wasn't a native port.

Are they gonna finish attempting to have the Windows version of the game run at a decent FPS?

This is awesome, even using virtual and missing 2 key libs, it means if people support this then ARMA 5 will be... a first class citizen on OS X and linux.

Awesome

The key piece of information is that they're launching at version 1.42 and that it's unclear if they'll be updated. This means that you can't use these clients to play on most servers so, unless you like creating your own solo missions, there's really no reason to install these.

I can see it working on Linux.....Good luck on Mac though.
