I honestly think your biggest hurdle is control on a touch screen--conquering that is "the big question"

screen tilt + first person view with a slight drift + buttons on the side of the screen?

I personally feel like a douche when I have to tilt the screen (namely in public). Any buttons are hard because you can't feel them. I'm obviously kind of old school on it, but that is why I never play action games on my phone (flappy bird is the closest that I come).

I've had a couple ideas myself, but those interface restrictions are why I don't play anything but non-realtime strategy...then again I probably wouldn't pay for anything anyway.

edit: to clarify I want to be able to play "blind" to the interface, without moving
