You absolutely do NOT need HDMI bandwidth to stream video. WTF do you think Youtube and Netflix do? It's all just video streams, modern GPUs use hardware H264 encoders to do the heavy lifting of compression. If you can watch 720P YT/NF then you should be able to stream a game as long as your latency is reasonable.

Youtube and Netflix can buffer when they have spare bandwidth for when things get tight. Streamed games can't.

You'll get insane spikes of data on fps games. I mean things like civ 5 might work where not a lot is moving / latency doesn't matter but then why not just buy the game for a fiver?
