Exactly. I didn’t know valve deciding what to sell and what not to constituted free speech violations. The free market will decide if valve limiting itself was a good decision. But no one will be arrested overack of waifu puzzles.

I want people to stop buying brand new premium series mobile phones from retailers and pick up some of the mass of pretty decent quality refurbs or second hand stock from outside of the OEMs chain of supply so the OEMs suddenly lose a fuckton of money on the brand new phones of any of the last couple of generations so these retarded high prices get massively slashed and the industry learns a lesson.

Also a threeway with kaley cuoco and jennifer lawrence.

Which one of those is more realistic you think?

Where was all this when Rapelay was censored from Western storefronts?

People sound like liberals when they pick and choose convenient titles to climb on for their protests but leave out the more questionable ones. Either all games adhere to the standards people are clamoring for or none of them do.

At this point Valve is too big and practically monopolized the PC gaming market and make their money from assetflips and their MOBA cash cows. They have nothing to lose.

If people who hated EA were unable to put them in their place, what chance do people have against a company whom most people idolize?

I was not aware that Rapelay was censored, but I dont support that either. I dont care if a game contains nudity, hate speech, extreme violence, or any other content. If people dont want to see it, they dont have to buy it.

Rapelay should be legal. Japan is so far ahead when it comes to civil liberty and free speech.

In comparison, the west seems like an authoritarian regime that limits freedom of expression. Even these days, they (western mainstream society) are literally pressuring devs to add forced diversity into their games. I looked at all the recent western games and almost all have nigger or lgbt or shit whenever its possible to insert the propaganda. It's like fucking communism all over again.

Quality game. That kid from American Beauty needs to ditch the bag and see what a little wind can do to an Asian schoolgirl's dress in a grimey subway station.

US law is also a problem.

Steam is not the only ones at fautl.

This. Obscenity laws are a clusterfuck of sorts. If the wrong thing crosses state lines the creator could be in a lot of legal trouble. This wouldn't strictly be for porn either as non-pornographic stuff like horror movies or novels have gotten publishers into hot water. I believe a doctor had a heap of trouble from a mail order book about drugs that was intercepted.

What did Valve do? why should I boycott them?

And now that I think about it, boycotting them wont help because they wont notice. You could email contact@valvesoftware.com and complain. If one person complaining started this, maybe 2 people complaining can get it reversed.

They started selectively censoring games with sexual content because one woman complained.

A big thing needs to happen.

A real protest.

We need to go offline for a weekend. No running Steam, not buying games, no playing games, no redeeming keys on the account... Silence. It needs to be felt.

A serious effort needs to be made to rally users who care about freedom, who care about choice. They need to get their shit together and end this nanny-state bullshit where a bunch of hand wringers can control what we can see, say, play, read, think, and feel.

I would say the best time to do it is soon, say from the 25th to the 28th. Make it known that it is happening, get some gaming news sites talking about it, put it on your various social media nonsense.

Then, turn off steam for the entire weekend. Don't be in offline mode and playing, that defeats the purpose.

Be entirely off steam for the whole weekend.

Only if the numbers are great enough will Gaben and their lot give a flying fuck, only once it has been demonstrated that our desire to play whatever we want regardless of what others think and to allow others to play whatever they want regardless of we think.

Thank you for your reply, I was starting to lose hope. On Reddit, all I got was downvotes and pedantic statements about how this is not technically a free speech issue because VALVe is a company and not a Government. On here I have some people calling me a degenerate, even though I pretty clearly stated that I dont play porn games, I just abhor censorship and moral panic.

I am with you. I would gladly stop playing in protest. But I get the feeling that the overwhelming majority of people dont care, and of the few who do, most are in favor of censorship because they have some deep-rooted misconceptions about sexuality.

Keep fighting the good fight.

The only legit moral panic today is how parents are encouraging their children to go through sex change.

I prefer whst they did with huniepop. Sold the game censored, and the devs posted a free patch to remove the censorship right in public.

Valves ass is covered. The game is fully available. Everyone wins.

Im still mad the "gamer" was a frumpy grouchy bitch with blue hair though.
