I was fitting the engine the other day, when the lights went out. LOL Right at the end of the day I was trying to push the car out of the garage, I think to fit the last door on (which was acting up) and I ended up pushing the car so that one wheel was in the damn pit. Tried to fix it and ended up flipping the car on its side... OK. I called it a day. God knows at what point I last saved it.

I am currently on the wiring. Wish me luck!

Make sure you check, and double check that you filled the radiator. The first time I tried starting up, I thought I topped off everything, but forgot the radiator. Queue one of my pistons giving my garage a skylight, and half of my bearings ending up in the lake.

Update on how I got my car started again.

The patch stole my spark plugs.

I got mine started too! Wow. Too much disbelief to actually have joy, though, by that time!

What you don't want: Don't us MSCeditor to wire the care, because I think the game developer put some entries in to trick you. I.E. entries for 'wiringbolted' that should remain false, whereas generally you want anything that is supposed to be bolted, well, bolted.

What you do want: Everything wired up, incl. the battery itself (with the black wire attached and fastened last) and the starter and the ignition. Starter has to be unscrewed in two places, I believe, with a 7mm and a 5mm, wire attached then rescrewed/bolted.
Engine assembled completely.
Battery charged! I had bought a new battery but I don't know if the game was messing with me or what, but it seems the (new!) battery was only at a 40% charge. I didn't notice this in MSCeditor because the battery is listed in a different file. And I didn't think to even check it because the battery was new, and I was worried about the wiring (i.e. assuming that the problem was with the battery).

Glad I stuck with it, as opposed to giving up on the game before getting the Satsuma running! It drives a lot better than the van does, a lot easier on the dirt roads, but now I just need to get that top speed up!
