Yup. I was pretty speedy with this one. I beat another guy, but they still posted a similar response. It's all good, you can share my answer. I'll even give ya a point!

I tried playing 007 GoldenEye on N64 and felt bad; the graphics that were so impressive to me back in 1998 now seemed so crude and low res. It was sad and disappointing. Sometimes a memory should remain a memory, there are some places that were so special at the time that they can never be returned to.

I found that with older movies on bluray. Edward Scissorhands is horrible, his scars look fake and can tell it's make up. Same with the back to the future you see Doc's makeup that they try to make him look older. :/

I realize this has nothing to do with the actual topic but your experience reminded me of this.

I notice how old sci-fi special effects now look cheesy after 20 years, but I still really like the Star Trek special effects from the 1960s.

Unless you give Goldeneye Source a try.

I still play this with the kids. They get mad because I own them. Guarding the body armor for the win!

*N64 was the last console I ever bought.

Great game. Always loved shooting the glass until it shattered, or shooting the scientists twice in the leg to get them to shoot back.

Have you tried emulating it? The graphics get a boost on PC.

And Perfect Dark still looks pretty good IMO, although I grant that unlike Goldeneye it used the extra 4 MB of RAM from the expansion pak. (also, lol, 4 megabytes. We've come a long way)

It ages pretty well, especially tie fighter 98 and xwa.

Especially with that graphics mod on github.

Ya I'll take a look.

Like freelancer and morrow wind mods, they are impressive but it always a smoothness like semi truck built on the body of a pickup.

This and Tie Fighter. Two of my all time favorites. Are there any modern games in this style? PC?

I never liked Tomb Raider. Get this jump just right or fall to your death. No thanks I'll pass.

Any games that require the reflexes of a teenager. But, to be fair, I've never had those, even when I was a teenager, but i'm too old to pretend now.

Dude, why not play Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

It's a remake/reimagining of the first one anyway w/ decent graphics.
