Blah blah, preorder, blah blah, EA. Usual arguments. Until people stop, they get what they deserve.

Nobody learned from what happened with no mans sky. That lesson is: Don't preorder SHIT unless you know EXACTLY what you're getting. (Which isn't so much a lesson, but common sense)

only things i ever preorder are witcher, elder scrolls(non mmo) and zelda. they seem to be the only ones that can actually regularily deliver. unfortunately they deliver so rarely its sad, but atleast you know its because they use the time to make a good game

If this happens to any of you, immediately file a dispute on your debit / credit card that you wanted to return this product, but the company is not completing the return. EA will have to provide its terms and conditions if they want to keep the money, which will show refunds allowed within 7 days of game launch.

If EA provides a different set of terms, you can request all documentation used in your dispute and make the terms EA provided public, which would cause an even bigger firestorm than the one they already started.

Edit: In case anyone needs documentation, I'll post it here:

Here's EA's general policy, which shows refunds within 7 days:

Interestingly, the Disclaimers specific to Battlefront II do not address refunds at all:

if your charge back, EA/Origin will close your entire account, and any other games you have will be gone too

[–] Samsquamch 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

They usually only do that if you charge it back as fraud, but a good point none-the-less. Just one more reason to not keep all of your games under one company umbrella.

I figured out through EA that I had to contact PSN (Sony) since I have a PS4. So, I called them and they told me they couldn't initiate a refund since it was a digital transaction. I told them I'd file a dispute anyway.

Any idea if it will go through?

This makes no sense. Why wouldn't I be able to cancel something I've ordered but no one else has received yet either?

After people paid money to see the prequals, not to surprising they'll spend $100 to play as Vader lol.

The ones I'm hearing who are the most pissed off are Star Wars fans. They are not happy.

Star Wars died when Disney bought it. There is no Star Wars anymore.

Yes the old cis white male Star Wars is dead, welcome the new colorful diverse Star Wars.

Seriously. I was gonna buy this game because I'm a fan of battlefield, not so much star wars but I liked the first (2014) battlefront game enough.

Glad I'm not some pre-order sucker. Not touching this with a 10 ft pole

The game is fun and beautiful.. I've tried it. The only things that are fucked up is the RNG loot boxes and grinding for hours to unlock stuff which many people don't have time to do thus making their experience suboptimal.

I remember ripping EA in comments on Reddit years ago. I got like 4k downvotes. Now look at them. At least people might actually be waking up. It took forever. Keep red piling on these corporations. We can change the world by simply carefully choosing what we spend our money on.

They sell games to kids, paid for by their parents. There will always be kids new to gaming who don't know any better, and parents who don't care.

EA holds all these franchises people want to play for ransom. It's absolutely sickening the lengths this company goes to screw over their customers. What other company in America does this to this extent besides Comcast? I can't tell you how many games I genuinely want to play but don't as soon as I realize EA published them (hell three just this holiday season in NFS, The Sims 4 and BFII).

Games like Titanfall 3 will happen, except they'll be laden with so many greedy underhanded tactics that no one should even bother with it.

On one hand what they're doing is an evil crime against our cultural heritage. On the other hand if this shit happens enough times people will give up their attachment to long-standing franchises and better products will be successful in the market.

Let them have the IP. I will play a good game with new IP, well before a bad game with known IP. If I want the story of the game EA made someone has it and someone upload either a full let's play or just all the videos so I can watch the movie instead of playing a bad game. If they stop making the games oh well every story ends at some point and we the reader/watcher don't always get to be happy about it.

Today's Lesson: NEVER PREORDER, BITCHES!!!

That's been the lesson for the last couple years at least. People don't learn.

First time I told this fact to my son, roughly six years ago, he didn't believe me at first, as the advertising had made its mark. I allowed him to waste his money as the real world lesson is sometimes more valuable than the spoken word.

That's when he came to me to acknowledge my wisdom.

I then I told him, that its ok be ripped off once, as long as he learns to adapt beyond that point.

He is now a firm believer in post consumer reviews over pre peer reviews.

All the best,

peace...
