Meh. Empty virtue-signaling for the perpetually offended. But I admittedly would love to see how they shoot themselves in the foot with their precious DMCA.

Oh I would love it if they did illegally DMCA Pewdie and he took them to court and won.

even if he did DMCA it, who would want to watch a firewatch playthrough?

Considering Pewdiepie didn't go after WSJ I doubt he would go after this nobody.

The guy strikes me as someone who just wants to have fun and make money while doing it.

They even have a notice on their website giving anyone who wants to permission to stream their game, so they would almost certainly lose.

This will backfire. Every one of pewd's fans is going to hate this guy. He's going to experience sales losses, and pewd won't even be aware of him.

I'm pretty sure telling your daughter not to date this guy you don't like always works like a charm.

IMO Nietzsche was a bit of an optimist. focused too much on what humans could achieve that he forgot we are lazy cunts. Call me when you find a lazy mans Nietzsche.

I was thinking of playing Firewatch but I wanted to play a real game and not a walking simulator.

I was wondering what it actually was. I saw a review of it and it was just a guy walking around talking on the radio. Thought maybe it was a horror game or survival game. Nope just a guy on the radio in the woods.

I think the whole walking simulator genre is fucking clown shoes. The only one I genuinely enjoyed was the Stanley Parable and that is because it plays like a subversive choose tour own adventure book where the dozens of endings tie into and build on each other.

I'm sad to say I bought it and "played" it.

At one point there is hope it goes off the rails, but no, you are always 100% on the rails.

If you like walking along corridors it's great. Otherwise it really has zero replayability

I was planning on buying it for the gf once it was on sale for $5 or so, but it's not even worth that little to me anymore.

Someone gave it to me, and I feel that the time investment wasn't worth my time.

I was interested in it, too. I saw a bit of a couple streams and decided that I didn't want to waste my time. Stories are for traditional entertainment; games are for gameplay.

If they actually file an actual DMCA claim, it will end badly. Filing fraudulent ones(including trying to take down somebody's fair use video because of feelings) is a crime.

But most likely they sent an email to youtube, or clicked 'report.' These are not DMCA claims and youtube will gladly comply.

I almost bought Firewatch once. Hell, now I won't feel bad if I ever decide to pirate it and all past and future games this sjw thunderfaggot releases. Another case where game is good, but its dev is a fucking cunt.

Yeah same, what the development says and does is more important to me than the game. Got in a fight overy someone because I said that I would never buy nor play Hyperlight Drifter because they put Sarkeesian in the Special thanks. He said that it was stupid, since she had nothing to do woth the game. I told him it was the fact that they thank that bitch is enough. That and not buying ME:A for BioWare not doing anything about Heir's racists tweets.

Filing a DMCA against free advertising? I wouldn't compromise a project over my feelings, but then again, I won't make shit projects either.

I don't think they understand that they benefit more from him than he does from them.
