Skyrim was disappointing and Fallout 4 was boring. ESO is bland and uninteresting. Bethesda is getting worse and worse.

Which of the previous games are you comparing Skyrim to? For example I liked the addition of perks. Gave it a bit of a 'meta strategy', but I hated the loss of spell customization.

I think TES III Morrowind was the pinnacle of Elder Scrolls. Skyrim wasn't a bad game it's just shallow when compared to Morrowind or even Oblivion.

ESO wasn't Bethesda, and I disagree about Skyrim. I'll agree completely on Fallout.

Sad thing is that every one I know of that liked the game clambered for multiplayer... they took that to mean MMO when MMO's are dieing all around them. The game sucks.

All I wanted to do was play around in the world with a buddy, not compete for spawn locations or loot.

There's a guy who made a multiplayer mod just like that for Oldrim on the Nexus. I haven't actually had a chance to try it myself but it works using nothing but SKSE, apparently.

It would have been awesome if they added a minecraft-like multiplayer, with built-in modding/server tools. They could have designed the main game around 4-player coop and let modders do the rest.

I always felt like they just wanted a piece of the item shop and easy dlc market. How long was ESO in Dev? I'd imagine at the time they decided to make it, that market still thrived.

Wouldn't doubt it. MMO's are only around for corps to make money off the auxiliaries. As the MMO market thriving... nah. For the last several years the biggest game in the market has been losing subscribers at a steady pace despite new "expansions".

I think it's the combat system above all else.

Everytime I see an advertisement come up for ESO's Morrowind expansion, I wish that it was a remaster of Morrowind with a refinement on the original engine. And yes I know skywind is coming.

Personally I'm loving ESO

Right amount of solo play, organic grouping and socializing is very old school for me. Which I miss. WoW ruined the genre, this is finally starting to feel somewhat like the old days.

ES ended with Skyrim. Everything else is the product of a fevered dream.

ESO was boring when I played the beta, couldn't convince myself it would be worth buying.

Just got back into FFXIV though, it's OK.

You should try it now, seriously

It's WAY better than beta. This game needed another year of development or more when it launched. It was forced out the door due to financial reasons. But for real it's worth another try if you're bored one day. Free to play so it's just a matter of installing if you have already bought the game

I too find FF14 better than ESO, as an MMO person. 14 reborn is honestly probably the best traditional, fantasy mmo ever made. I think it's better than WoW at any point.
