I've played a shit ton of the new Dead Cells game. It's actually as good as people say it is. I almost never play games in Early Access, but this is one I can whole heatedly recommend. It's a 2D rougelite brawler / fighting game. The aesthetics remind a bit of Dark Souls and Diablo 3. Very fluent, very satisfying, quite difficult.
I've returned to the good old Rimworld game after watching a bit of a Let's Play challenge where he attempts to build on a colony on an ice sheet. I still haven't even completed the game, but this video resparked by interest in the game, so now I'll play on an easier difficulty setting and try to actually complete the game. Rimworld is a top-down survival management game, also living up to the hype. My recommendation when playing the game is to not spend any time at all in the map and character selection screen. Just close your eyes and pick characters at random, and hastily pick your starting location without thinking too much. Rimworld is about creating organic stories, and it will never play out exactly as you planned so it's best to embrace the random adventure not get your hopes up.
Finally I bought SteamWorld Heist from a Humble Bundle. I've seen a review and heard great things about it, but I haven't played it yet. To me, this seems like a more casual version of XCOM or other turn-based battle games. The selling point for me is how they've removed random dice-rolls that decide whether your character hits or not, and replaced it with self-aiming where you get to shoot a bunch of trick shots.
What are you playing?
